Timbers Kauai Ocean Club & Residences is located in the 450-acre Hōkūala resort community. In total, the club includes 47 residences, each of which provide a direct view of the ocean. Some of the residences also offer views of the lagoon or golf course. In terms of location, Timbers Kauai provides a bit of distance from popular tourist areas but is also set near the beach, with easy access to the island.

There are several opportunities to be a part of the Timbers Kauai community. Prospective tenants can either purchase their residence in full or take part in a residence club interest, which allows for several residents to purchase and share the home as a vacation spot with customized usage. Whole ownership rates start at just under $4,000,000. For partial ownership, 1/12 of an interest starts at $455,000, and 1/6 of an interest starts at just under $1,000,000. If you are simply looking for a place to have a luxury vacation, you can opt to book a rental without actually making a home purchase.

The Finer Details

At Timbers Kauai, you’ll find both townhomes and condominiums. Each home includes 3 to 4 bedrooms, and some of the floor plans also come with an additional nook for a murphy bed. Homes are either 1-story or 2-stories and range from 2,012 through 3,222 square feet.

There are 4 different floor plans available in the Timbers Kauai community. While some of the features overlap among the different housing plans, each plan also has distinct attributes to make the space unique.

Homes with the Maliula floor plan offer views of the ocean, lagoon, and golf course. These 3 bed, 3.5 bath residences boast a minimum of 3 covered lanais for you to enjoy some time outdoors. The living room, kitchen, and master bedrooms are lined with hardwood floors. In the bathrooms, you’ll find beautiful stone vanities. Each home comes with an integrated wine cooler, custom cabinetry, and Thermador and Bosch kitchen appliances. At Maliula, residents will be able to park in a private parking garage.

The second floor plan, named Kaiholo, includes 3-4 bedroom units with 3.5 bathrooms. Views are similar to views of the Maliula residences, with the inclusion of private lanais as well. Kaiholo boasts expansive stacking glass doors and hardwood floors throughout the living room, kitchen, and master bedrooms. Like Maliula, these units also include a private parking garage.

Laola, the third floor plan, consists of 3-4 bedroom townhomes. These units offer views of the ocean, mountains, and golf course. My favorite feature of these homes is the addition of a private plunge pool that can be enjoyed by just you and your family. Additionally, your family will love the main-level lanai that includes a built in barbecue as well as plenty of space to relax and enjoy a meal. The master suite has its own, private lanai and even includes an outdoor rain shower. Another unique feature of this floor plan is the inclusion of folding glass walls, which allows for a true indoor-outdoor experience right from your residence.

Last, but not least, we have the Laola Nani floor plan, which includes 3-4 bedrooms and offers ocean and golf course views. Similarly to the Laola, these units also feature a main-level lanai with a barbeque and plenty of space to relax. Laola Nani units also include a private plunge pool and disappearing glass walls. You’ll find porcelain tiling in the living room, kitchen, and master bedrooms, with natural stone vanities in the bathrooms.

Regardless of the floor plan you choose, it’s nearly impossible to not be wowed by the amenities offered at Timber Kauai Ocean Club & Residences. Located a mere 5 minutes from the Lihue Airport, the club is convenient for vacationers traveling via plane, and there is transportation available to help you get to and from the airport and around the community.

One of the most famous amenities at Timber Kauai is the Jack Nicklaus Ocean Course. This golf course can be viewed from many of the residences in the community. It is known for being the longest oceanfront golf course in the state. The club provides specified owner-only course days to help give homeowners preferred access to the course. You can play a round of golf and then stop for a snack at Hale Keile, the local golf snack shack.

Beach lovers will enjoy being close to 2 secluded beaches and a restaurant that offers oceanfront dining. Hualani’s, an award-winning restaurant that is on-site, provides a seasonal menu based on the locally grown ingredients from the Farm at Hōkūala. The farm includes plants that are unique to Hawaii and offers tours to guests who are interested in learning more about the agriculture.
For those looking to get into the water, the club includes a 2-tiered infinity pool and a pool dedicated to kids that even includes a waterfall. Rentals and lessons are available at the Beach Club and Adventure Center at Hōkūala.
