The first time you visit Wailea Golf Estates, it may be difficult to find if you're using Google Maps. Don't follow the Google marker, but instead drive down Wailea Ekolu Pl. where you'll see a large security gate, the entrance to Wailea Golf Estates. While driving towards the gate, you'll likely see a few golfers on Wailea Blue Golf Course to the right.
Once inside, you'll appreciate the well-kept landscaping. The association diligently manages the greenery, ensuring trees don't obstruct the breathtaking views. The neighborhood is also notably quite, perhaps even a bit too quiet, with several vacant homes. Short-term rentals are strictly prohibited here, emphasizing single-family occupancy for each residence.
While the community amenities at Wailea Golf Estates might be limited, the individual residences make up for it with remarkable features.
At the heart of this development lies the esteemed Wailea Blue golf course, designed by Arthur Jack Snyder, renowned not only for its exceptional play but also for the breathtaking ocean views it provides. The course is maintained year-round and features a pro shop and clubhouse for enthusiasts.
The residences are massive, typically ranging between 3,000 and 6,000 square feet, with an average closer to 3,500 square feet, situated on expansive lots spanning from 10,030 to 23,636 square feet. Most of the homes include 3 to 4 bedrooms.
Phase 1 homes present a variety of features such as private pools, lanais, enclosed garages, and open floor plans. On the other hand, Phase 2 homes emphasize seamless indoor-outdoor living and feature chef-grade kitchens with Thermador kitchen appliances and fixtures from Kohler and Grohe, expansive floor-to-ceiling windows, and private pools and hot tubs.
Wailea is a highly sought-after master-planned community known for its stunning beaches and top-tier golf courses, covering nearly 1,500 acres of resorts, hotels, and natural beauty. It boasts five picturesque beaches and 54 holes of championship golf, including the prestigious Wailea Blue course, making it a hotspot for international golf enthusiasts. The award-winning Wailea Beach, honored as “America’s Best Beach” back in 1999 by Dr. Beach, and the Āhihi-Kīna‘u Natural Area Reserve, offering exceptional snorkeling, are a few of the key attractions. Visitors enjoy shopping, dining, and year-round events like Restaurant Week Wailea and Festivals of Aloha, all amidst a backdrop of sunshine for most of the year.
