The Ala Moana Tradition

1350 Ala Moana has been a staple building in the Midtown Ala Moana area since 1968. It was originally designed by Minoru Yamasaki, a well-known architect who has designed several prominent buildings. It was the first of Honolulu’s Super Block, a series of six different luxury condominiums in the area. Don’t let the age of the building steer you away—1350 Ala Moana has had plenty of updates and is well-maintained.

Standing tall above the city, 1350 Ala Moana is a 33-story high-rise building with 353 units. Floor plans range from 2-3 bedrooms, with a majority of the units having 2-bedrooms. Each unit comes with a private lanai, and, depending on the orientation and floor of your condo, you’ll be able to see the Ala Moana Beach Park, including the ocean. Regardless of your view, the lanai provides an opportunity to take in the soothing trade winds or catch a sunset at the end of a long day.

Getting To Know Your Unit

The layout of 1350 Ala Moana is simple and practical. Most floors have 12 homes, and there are units facing in each of the four directions (with the corner condos having access to two separate viewpoints). Corner homes may also include 2 lanais for residents to be able to step outside to enjoy both views.

Most units have 2 bedrooms, but there are some 3-bedroom floor plans. Depending on your condo’s plan, you may have a breakfast bar attached to the kitchen. Many of the layouts have a separate kitchen room, and all of them offer an open living and dining area that provides plenty of space for residents to add their own personal touches to their homes.

Condominium sizes at 1350 tend to be larger than average, ranging from 1,000 through 1,305 square feet. Each unit comes with additional locked storage space and bike and surfboard storage. Spectrum Wi-Fi, basic cable, and water are all included, which is a huge bonus, as these utilities tend to add up quickly!

The Great Lawn

On top of the incredible views and spacious floor plans, 1350 Ala Moana features a variety of amenities for residents to enjoy. One of the main highlights is the Great Lawn, a huge area of greenspace located right outside the building. This beautiful lawn is well-kept and includes mature trees and plenty of space for picnicking or playing games with the family. There is also a covered lanai with tables, which is perfect for reading a book or having a meal with others. Be sure to check out the building’s donation library to pick up a book to read as you bask in the Hawaiian sun.

Adjacent to the Great Lawn is a BBQ area for hosting cookouts. It includes 2 different patios with gas grills and counterspace. Step right up to the concierge desks, where you can get assistance for any questions you may have. The concierge services accept resident packages and also serve as the property’s security 24-hours per day. This includes physical patrolling of the grounds for the safety of residents and their families.

Adjacent to the lobby, you’ll find a beautiful living room that can be used for multiple purposes, like waiting for friends to arrive or having a meeting with an outside vendor. There is also a formal conference room for hosting business meetings. It includes a large table that can seat up to 10 people. Residents can use the party room for special events. This room includes plenty of seating and is also attached to a beautiful lanai. Last, but not least, there is a beautiful indoor fitness center with floor-to-ceiling views of the garden. The gym has all of your typical workout equipment, including both strength training and cardio machines.

1350 Ala Moana is well-maintained and is overseen by a homeowners’ association to help preserve the quality of the building and its grounds. Keep in mind that pets are not allowed at this building, but it is a family-friendly establishment.

One of the best parts of living at 1350 Ala Moana is that it's in Ala Moana. The building is directly across from Ala Moana Beach Park and the Ala Moana Center. The park is a whopping 100 acres in size and provides access to gigantic lawns and two separate beaches. There are two miles of paved trails for walking and biking, bocce courts, and tennis courts. You’ll also find the places you need for your everyday errands, like CVS Pharmacy, Foodland grocery store, and three separate banks. The center is beautifully decorated with artwork made by locals and serves as the host for numerous community and cultural events throughout the year.
