Welcome to Hoakalei

The new Hoakalei development hosts several neighborhoods of 1- and 2-story single-family homes, with accommodations for up to 5 bedrooms at the larger residences. Each neighborhood includes several floor plan options, with home sizes ranging from 1,294 through 3,552 square feet. Homes in this community vary in cost, depending on selected upgrades and floor plan choices, with the more affordable homes starting at $700k and the most luxurious units costing up to $1.6 million.

Currently, there are 4 main neighborhoods within Hoakalei, each featuring their own floor plans and amenities within the larger community. These neighborhoods are named Ka Makana, Kuapapa, Kipuka, and Lei Pauku.

Exploring Ka Makana

Ka Makana was the first neighborhood developed in Hoakalei, and it features homes ranging from 2,100 to 3,500 square feet. The style of the homes places emphasis on both indoor and outdoor features, with intentional designs that really make each house a home. Engulfed by views of the greenery and waterways along the golf course, residents will enjoy relaxing on their covered lanais and front porches.

Homes at Ka Makana are either 1 or 2 stories and are characterized as having architectural structures that are inspired by the islands. There are 2 main series of homes within the neighborhood: the Koa Lifestyle Series and the Koa Premier Series. The Koa Lifestyle Series offers 2 different floor plans for 4 bedroom and 3 bathroom spaces, while the Premier Series boasts a total of 5 different floor plans for 3-5 bedroom units with 2.5-4.5 bathrooms.

Homes at Ka Makana include large kitchens with stainless steel appliances. Some of the architectural accents include Bahama shutters, copper accents, and plantation-style accents. These houses boast energy-efficient features, including a solar-heated hot water system. Each home includes a private backyard that is professionally landscaped, further supporting the indoor-outdoor feel of the neighborhood.

One of the benefits enjoyed by Ka Makana residents is access to the community swim club, which includes a pool and jetted spa, a fitness center, and beautiful cabanas for relaxing outside. The Ka Makana swim club also features barbeque and picnic areas as well as a full tennis court.

Entering the Gates of Kuapapa

One of the best parts of the Kuapapa neighborhood is the diversity of homes and floor plans available within the gated community. Homes at Kuapapa are 1 or 2 stories with 3 to 5 bedrooms. These houses feature covered patios and lanais for enjoying views of the rolling hills of the country club golf course. The Kuapapa community includes 3 series of homes in addition to the Koa Lifestyle and Koa Premier Series.

The Loulu Series is made up of adorable seaside-style cottages that range from 1,628 to 1,864 square feet in size. These homes are designed to provide a fresh, light space, with open-concept floorplans.

The Naio series consists of southern-style seaside cottage homes ranging from 1,997 to 2,381 square feet. With 4 different floor plans, Naio homes are large in size and effectively integrate indoor and outdoor features in a classy, sophisticated manner. Both the Loulu and Naio series offer options for having the master bedroom on the main floor.

The Elama series includes views of the golf course or views of the Kuapapa Preserve (depending upon the location of the unit). These homes are the most spacious of the styles and include a minimum of 4 bedrooms. Elama homes are offered in 3 different floor plans.

Other Kuapapa options include the Koa Lifestyle Series and the Koa Premier Series. These luxury options range from 2,123 to 3,552 square feet and include 4-5 bedrooms with 2.5-4.5 bathrooms. Homes are elegantly crafted with island-inspired designs and refined finishes, with prices starting in the $900s.

Residents at Kuapapa enjoy access to a private neighborhood pool, which also includes a spa and areas for barbequing. The location offers easy access to the Wai Kai Lagoon, which is perfect for kayaking and paddle boarding close to home.

Views of Kipuka

The next neighborhood, Kipuka, is also gated and provides access to a neighborhood-specific pool and spa, which also includes a play area for the kids. Kipuka is made up of 131 condominium homes with 4 bedrooms and 2.5-3 bathrooms. Homes are organized into the Garden Series Residences (which overlook beautiful greenways) and the Golf Series Residences (with views of the fairways and lakes along the Hoakalei Country Club Golf Course).

Finding Community in Lei Pauku

Lei Pauku is the most recently constructed neighborhood in the Hoakalei development. It is perfectly located next to the Hoakalei Golf Course, the Wai Kai Hale Club, and the lagoon. These 3 bedroom, 2.5-3 bathroom homes feature covered lanais and balconies. The neighborhood style is laid back and calm and includes 72 cozy homes.

Life at Ewa Beach

Residents of Hoakalei enjoy convenient access to a variety of attractions and amenities. The location in itself serves as one of the benefits of living within the development. Ewa beach is close to Honolulu (about 20 miles) and Waikiki but is far enough away to provide some space from the stressors of the bigger cities. More and more families are moving to become a part of the ever-growing Ewa Beach community.

Hoakalei is a short distance from Diamond Head, which provides beautiful scenery for hiking. Love the outdoors? Waikiki has incredible beaches for surfing, swimming, or just taking a walk in the sand. There are also plans for construction of a shoreline trail that will stretch more than a mile from Oneʻula Beach Park all the way to White Plains Beach, with options for branching off to other trails along the way.

A Resort Lifestyle

The amenities at Hoakalei are more prestigious than those at some of the other communities within the area. Hoakalei is perfect for families and singles who enjoy being surrounded by greenery and enjoy being a part of a close-knit community. With several golf courses, easy access to pools, and plans for a built-in lagoon, residents at Hoakalei will be able to enjoy the sunshine without even having to leave the development.

Recently released was the Wai Kai, a surf park with the world's largest deep-water standing surf wave. The lagoon will include a sheltered swim cove. There will be designated areas for kayaking, canoeing, and paddle boarding. Residents of Hoakalei will be able to easily walk to the lagoon to enjoy hours of fun with their friends and families.

Additionally, the Hoakalei Country Club will host a golf shop with unique merchandise for sale. Members can also enjoy use of the pool, which includes private cabanas and locker rooms for changing. You’ll be able to enjoy an afternoon at the pool with your family followed by a romantic date night at Reflections with your spouse!

Some of the favored amenities offered by the country club include the golf courses and the driving range. The range goes up to about 350 yards and is one of the most spacious in Oahu. Members who are residents of Hoakalei will enjoy the convenience of practicing their swings without even having to drive anywhere.

The Hoakalei Country Club golf course is designed to be challenging for experts, while also being accessible to individuals just getting started with their golf game. The course includes 112 white sand bunkers and a variety of stunning water features. Navigate your way through these difficult additions while enjoying the beautiful weather. This course, designed by Ernie El, is his only signature course in the state, and it is accessible solely to members of the club.

There are a variety of country club memberships available to Hoakalei residents and non-residents. Residents may purchase an individual golf membership (either non-transferable or transferable) or a non-transferable corporate membership. A similar membership structure is also offered to non-residents as well. Social memberships are currently waitlist only and provide entry to the pool, hot tub, and restaurant as well as invitations to popular social events.

For those who are interested in fine dining, there is the option of purchasing a dining membership, which provides access to Reflections and inclusion in social events related to the restaurant. Lastly, individuals who are actively in the military can also quality for a membership and can renew this membership for up to 3 years.

Families looking for a unique home in a serene environment will want to consider Hoakalei, as the development provides a variety of floor plan options and access to amenities that appeal to individuals who enjoy spending time outdoors.
