Nauru Tower: Curb Appeal

The Nauru Tower is definitely a sight to see! Constructed in 1992, this award-winning complex rests in a prime location in Honolulu—right next to some of the most popular shopping centers in the region. It was built on about 3.1 acres of land and boasts incredible, unobstructed ocean views with its half-circle construction design. Passerby will also notice the subtle blue-green building exterior, which adds an artistic flare to the whole ensemble.

Nauru Tower is a 44-story building with a total of 411 units. Unit sizes range from 1-bedroom to 3-bedrooms. The building includes a luxurious, formal front lobby that boasts nearly 20-foot ceilings. With 6 elevators (in addition to a 7^th service elevator), you won’t have to wait long to make your way home. The convenient location, wonderful views, and updated amenities are what make this complex stand out.

Condominium Highlights

Upon entering your condo, you’ll find a classy, tiled foyer that leads you into the main portion of the home. Once inside, you’ll notice the beautiful, unobstructed ocean views. Imagine walking to your window with your morning coffee and looking out into the waves! Each unit also comes with a private lanai, and penthouse floor plans have options for a rooftop lanai.

Some unit features may vary depending on the previous owners and any upgrades they may have made to the condo. Original homes included kitchens with subzero refrigerators and built-in microwaves. Units also included ceramic cook-tops and beautiful black granite kitchen countertops. As an avid cook myself, I would love to have these features already included in my condominium purchase.

In the bedrooms, you’ll find oversized walk-in closets. Each bedroom includes a panic button attached to the wall that can be activated in case of an emergency. This feature could potentially save a life and is a wonderful feature to have, especially if you are living with young children or older adults. Bathrooms are equipped with deep soak jacuzzi bathtubs and beautiful marble countertops. These features turn the mundane task of getting ready into a spa-like experience.

Choosing Your Floor plan

At Nauru Tower, there are a variety of floor plan options to suit your needs. Many of the plans are 2-bedroom, 2-bathroom, but there are also a few 1-bedroom homes and several penthouse plans. Future homeowners should also note that Nauru is a pet-free building.

The 1-bedroom/1-bathroom units (known as Type C and Type C1) have 850 square feet of interior space. They also include a small lanai that covers about 90 square feet.

The 2-bedroom units are available in numerous different styles. Each 2-bedroom condo includes 2-bathrooms. Interior space ranges from 1,220 through 1,385 square feet. Like the 1-bedroom units, these condos also include small lanais. Lanai sizes range from 90 through 150 square feet.

Penthouse units are located on the 43^rd and 44^th floors. They are available in 6 different styles and range from 2,380 through 3,660 square feet. You can expect to see floor-to-ceiling windows, a private rooftop deck, and marble tile in these elevated penthouse units.

Luxury Amenities

Nauru Tower residents have access to luxurious amenities, some of which were upgraded in 2015. On the 5^th floor, you’ll find a stunning 14,000 square foot heated swimming pool. There are also 2 heated Jacuzzis near the pool area. The decking surfaces have been upgraded to quartzite to help elevate the space, and the poolside furniture has also recently been replaced. Residents can relax at the poolside cabana and feel like they are on vacation without having to leave the building.

The 7^th floor picnic deck is a unique amenity offered at Nauru Tower. Walking across this deck feels like walking through a garden, as there is beautiful greenery all over. It’s like taking a walk through the park without having to leave your home! Residents can enjoy cooking for family or hosting guests at one of the private cabanas that include gas BBQ grills. Additionally, the 7^th floor features a private tennis court. Like the 5^th floor deck, the 7^th floor deck was also upgraded in 2015.

Some of the other notable amenities at Nauru Tower include a huge entryway lobby and opportunities for storing larger items, like surfboards and kayaks. Bike racks can be found in the underground garage. Since the neighborhood is walkable and bikeable, residents may want to explore their surroundings on foot or via bicycle.

Area Attractions

Nauru Tower is conveniently located near a variety of Oahu attractions. It is a beach-lover’s paradise, as the building is within walking distance of the Ala Moana Beach Park. This beach offers calm waters that are safe for swimming and water sports. Take a walk down the white sandy beach or enjoy spending some time kayaking over the waves.

Additionally, Nauru Tower is located to the west of the 60-acre Ward Village Center, where you’ll find outdoor dining, beautiful green walkways, and a variety of retail stores. Ward Village also offers entertainment venues and has a Whole Foods store.

To the east, you’ll find the award-winning Ala Moana Shopping Center, a huge open-air retail center. This center has both chain stores and local boutiques. Ala Moana also hosts community cultural events, including a daily hula show, and events for children and families.

Other highlights near Nauru Tower include the Honolulu Convention Center and Ala Wai Harbor. The Honolulu Convention Center is the largest center of its type in the state! This facility hosts different types of indoor and outdoor events and conventions. You’ll also be near the Blaisdell Center and Concert Hall, a performing arts center with a concert and exhibition hall.

The Nauru Tower building is known for its half-circular shape, which helps to maintain incredible views of the ocean. With its closeness to shopping centers, parks, and the beach, the building is positioned conveniently near all the necessities.
