Royal Capitol Plaza, originally constructed in 1987, stands high at 40 stories in West Kakaako. From the outside, you’ll notice the blue and white combination of glass windows and concrete walls, creating a relaxed, yet sophisticated look. Although the building is older than some of the other developments, many of the previous and current homeowners have updated their units. The location in itself is priceless, as residents are right down the street from restaurants, shopping centers, and the beach.

In total, Royal Capitol Plaza has 299 units, a majority of which have 1 or 2 bedrooms, with one 3-bedroom penthouse unit. Sizes are pretty standard for the area, with the 1-bedrooms ranging from 582 through 743 square feet and the 2-bedrooms ranging from 869 through 1,061 square feet. Many of the 2-bedroom floorplans also include 2 bathrooms. The building is pet-friendly for cats and birds.

Plaza Unit Highlights

The floorplans at Royal Capitol Plaza align with its outward appearance—they are sleek, simple, and functional. Outdoor views are dependent on the unit’s positioning in the building. The higher the unit, the more likely you are to catch an ocean or a mountain view; however, given the recent development around the complex, views may be blocked by other buildings. Higher-level units also tend to be a bit larger and are more likely to have a walk-in closet. Royal Capitol Plaza does not feature any lanais, but most of the units have giant floor-to-ceiling windows that are able to be opened.

Since each home will have been previously occupied, there will naturally be variation among the specific unit upgrades. Each unit has the capacity for window air conditioning units, and a majority of the previous homeowners have already added these into their homes. Each unit is also equipped with washer and dryer connections and wired for high-speech Internet and cable TV access. Residents also have access to storage lockers located outside of the units.

Although Royal Capitol Plaza is one of the more seasoned buildings in the area, this charming complex keeps up with the rest when it comes to amenities. As you drive up to the front of the building, you’ll notice the classy porte-cochère, which is convenient for pick-ups and drop offs. Once inside, you’ll notice the 3 elevators available to help slow down resident wait times. The building also provides a business center and a meeting room. Residents love the recreation deck, where they can enjoy the saltwater pool, the sauna, and the jacuzzi.
