Introducing Wailea Hills

The Laʻi Loa community is a neighborhood that is currently being developed within a larger community called the Wailea Hills Collection. This development is set to cover 13 acres of land in will provide luxury housing and amenities. It is being designed to be highly walkable with conveniently landscaped pathways for navigating the community.

Wailea Hills is designed with respect to the land in its natural state, meaning that the developers are working around the beauty of the environment, rather than against it. This provides opportunities to truly appreciate the natural beauty. Homes in the Wailea Hills Collection are anticipated to have beautiful ocean views and will be surrounded by native Hawaiian plants and greenery. The units will feature stunningly large window walls that will open up to the surrounding scenery.

Highly Anticipated Amenities

Residents at Laʻi Loa are likely to have their expectations met, or even exceeded, by the amenity plans for the community. The neighborhood will feature a comprehensive fitness center for maintaining an active lifestyle (although you may also want to consider exercising outside in the beautiful weather!). Additionally, expect to see spa facilities with separate changing rooms, saunas, and steam rooms.

My favorite amenity planned for Laʻi Loa is the infinity-edge pool overlooking the ocean and greenery surrounding the development. This pool includes chaise lounges as well as a hot tub for relaxing outside. Whether you’re wanting to get your laps in or read a book in the sun, this amenity will be a hot commodity that you’ll want to keep coming back to every weekend.

Additionally, amenities will include a large recreational terrace with a complete outdoor dining area and fire pit. This is perfect for entertaining guests outdoors at all times of the year. Each of the amenities at Laʻi Loa incorporate nature in some way (even the gym overlooks incredible scenery) to continue with the theme of integrating the outdoors with the indoors.

Designs for Laʻi Loa

Laʻi Loa is expected to be completed in 2023 and will be the first neighborhood available within the Wailea Hills Collection. These condominiums will each have 2-4 bedrooms with opportunities to purchase elevated penthouse suites. There will be 15 buildings in total, with 3 floors per building and a total of 75 homes across the neighborhood.

Some of the commonalities among these homes (regardless of floorplan) include beautiful quartz countertops, at least 1 lanai per unit, and underground parking garages. I like the idea of underground garages, as this provides a safe space to store your car without creating an eyesore for the community. Residents will also have access to storage units for keeping their larger items, such as surfboards and bicycles.

The technicalities of each unit will be based upon the floorplan selected, and each home is being curated to match the lofty visions of the developers. In total, there will be four different floorplans to choose from.

The smallest floorplan, at 2 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms, is located on the 1^st and 2^nd floors of the buildings. It is 1,686 square feet with two huge bedrooms and a great room that includes space for plenty of dining and living room furniture. It also includes a large kitchen island for entertaining guests.

Next, we have the 3 bedroom, 3 bathroom floorplan that spans 2,166 square feet. This unit is also available on the 1^st and 2^nd floors. One of my favorite features of the plan is the inclusion of a huge lanai that can accommodate outdoor dining furniture. The master bedroom is also located on the opposite side of the other two bedrooms and includes a private lanai. This floorplan layout provides extra privacy for residents occupying the master suite.

The additional two floorplans are both considered to be penthouse units. One is a 3 bedroom, 3.5 bathroom unit that also includes an additional den that could be utilized as 4^th bedroom, a family room, or an office space. This plan is 3,365 square feet and includes a gigantic covered lanai that is complete with a BBQ area and accompanying sink. The master bedroom features a never-ending walk-in closet and a bathroom with a tub, shower, and dual sinks.

Finally, we have the other penthouse floorplan, which includes 4 bedrooms and 3.5 bathrooms. This unit is also 3,365 square feet and has a similar structure for the master bedroom and bathroom. Like the previous unit, this penthouse floorplan also includes a lanai with a BBQ and sink as well as a master lanai.

Although the Laʻi Loa community is still under construction, homes are already being reserved. Prices currently range from $1,530,000 through $3,350,000. Monthly maintenance fees are determined by floorplan. It should be noted that these homes are for purchase only and are not approved to be used as short-term rentals.

Exploring Wailea

Laʻi Loa will be located in the town of Wailea, a wonderfully vibrant community with opportunities for outdoor recreation, shopping, and engagement with Hawaiian culture. There are 5 beaches within the town, providing spaces to swim, snorkel, and relax with friends and family.

In Wailea, you’ll find a variety of artistic outlets, with galleries, exhibits, and musical concerts. Be sure to check out The Shops of Wailea, which is the home to some of these galleries in addition to countless stores and restaurants featuring all types of foods (including authentic Hawaiian food). The Shops are more than just a mall—they also host cultural events and provide classes for learning new skills, such as playing the ukulele!
