The word “waiea” means “water of life,” and the design and artistry of this development is reflective of the serenity of calming waters. In fact, residents will notice a beautiful façade across the building that is built with over 1,200 different pieces of glass. Located in the first row of Ward Village, Waiea offers incredible views of the Pacific Ocean and Diamond Head, and it is also centrally located near Ala Moana Beach Park and Kewalo Harbor. This development is close to numerous beautiful hikes that are dotted with spectacular waterfalls.
Homes at Waiea feature ceilings that are around 9’6” in most units and even higher (around 10’6”) in the villas and penthouses. The interior features are top-notch, with beautiful hardwood and stone flooring across all floorplans, even in the bedrooms. Residents will never have to worry about cleaning or replacing carpeted flooring. The master bedrooms and bathrooms are huge, with rain-style showers and freestanding bathtubs. Double walk-in closets with built-in organizers will provide easy access to your clothing and other belongings without having to wade through a small storage area. Your home is your private sanctuary, and Waiea units provide that sacred space with beautifully designed features.
In the kitchen, you’ll find Miele appliances and classic European cabinetry. Each unit includes a wine fridge for keeping your bottles chilled without having to take up space in your regular refrigerator. The counters are made up of polished-quartz composite, and each unit features a gas cooking stove. These features come together to make up an exquisite kitchen fit for both novice cooks and passionate chefs.
Another special feature that can be found in all of the units is the inclusion of motorized window shades. As mentioned previously, each home comes with a private lanai for enjoying the views (and the weather) right outside your unit. The motorized window shades provide an additional way to soak in the Hawaiian sun while relaxing in your home. Once you move in, you’ll never want to leave.
Like other developments within the Ward Village community, Waiea incorporates energy efficient features to help promote environmental sustainability and reduce costs for residents. The building is targeted for certification through the Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design (LEED), meaning that it will likely fulfill rating requirements to become certified as an environmentally sustainable building based off of the LEED rating system.
The amenities at Ward Village Waiea are difficult to top in terms of level of luxury and versatility. The development offers onsite security day and night for the safety of the residents. Concierge services are also available as well.
Parking is never an issue at Waiea, as many of the units come with 2 parking stalls, aside from the 1-bedroom units, which include 1 parking stall. Guest parking stalls are also available, and the amenities also include private guest suites. Waiea offers valet parking onsite for the convenience of its residents.
A majority of the amenities at Waiea are located on the 7th floor deck, aside from the dog park, which is on the 4th floor. My favorite parts of this deck are the resort-style locker rooms, which feel like high-end spas. These locker suites include steam rooms, saunas, and treatment rooms for residents to access without even having to leave the building. Another favorite at Waiea is the infinity-edged pool, which includes a Pacific Ocean view. Be sure to check out the hot tub as well!
Families will enjoy the children’s area, which also includes a water play area that the kids will love. Adults can check out the sunset bar, which offers incredible views of all of the beautiful nature around Waiea. Feel free to relax in the resort-style cabanas or enjoy a movie in the onsite cinema.
In addition to these features, there are also rooms available for gatherings and events. The building includes private dining rooms and even a chef’s kitchen. Residents can make use of the quiet lounges or the library. Some of the more unique amenities offered include access to the indoor golf simulator and the theater and performance room. At Waiea Ward Village, residents will have plenty of space to relax and explore their interests.
As noted previously, Waiea is located outside of downtown Honolulu but remains close to a variety of attractions and weekly necessities. Residents can literally walk to Whole Foods to pick up their groceries. Ala Moana Beach Park and the Ala Moana Shopping Center are both within walking distance of the development, which is perfect for endless days in the sun and shopping at the local boutiques. The building is also close to Kewalo Harbor (which often attracts fishermen and sailors) and numerous trails for hiking.
Generally speaking, the Ward Village development is very pedestrian-friendly, with extra wide sidewalks and dedicated bike lanes, which promotes physical fitness throughout the community. Whether you enjoy walking, jogging, hiking, swimming, or surfing, there are plenty of opportunities to engage in physical activity and spend some time in the sun.
With its focus on community, promotion of active lifestyle, and convenient location, it’s not surprising that Ward Village has won awards as a master-planned development. Waiea is one of the most incredible buildings within the community and offers luxuries that are hard to match!
