Ho’oulu—The Most Cost-Effective Choice

The coveted Hoopili development continues to grow, and with it comes additional housing options. Ho’oulu, one of the newer neighborhoods, was first released for sales in 2019, with prices in the $500,000s. Another 46 homes will be released throughout 2022.

Ho’oulu offers plantation-style homes with 2 or 3 bedrooms. Floor plans range from 868 square feet through 1,144 square feet. This is smaller than other homes in the Hoopili development but is still a decent size for a small family. The neighborhood offers 3 different styles of floor plans, and each home comes with a spacious yard and a carport.

Families looking to escape the hassle of living in crowded townhomes and condos will love the privacy afforded in having their own, separate home. You’ll never have to worry about your upstairs neighbors walking loudly or your downstairs neighbors playing music again! At the same time, you’ll have access to the Hoopili community amenities and be close to plenty of restaurants and stores.

While many homes in this region come with high monthly maintenance fees, residents at Ho’oulu will only have to pay a $59 association fee each month. This fee is universal across all the Hoopili neighborhoods and pays for the servicing of community amenities, such as landscaping and pools. Other communities may charge up to $400 or $500 per month in maintenance fees, so this single fee is significantly lower than what is generally expected for the area.

An additional selling point for Ho’oulu is the opportunity to expand upon your investment over time. Given the larger-sized yards, there is plenty of potential to add on to the original housing. It is important to consider that large renovations will likely need to be approved by the community association, but this is definitely something to consider if you are thinking about purchasing a smaller home.

Ho’oulu Homes—The Specifics

The Ho’oulu single-family homes are charming, as they resemble the old Hawaiian plantation homes from long ago. Each unit has an adorable front porch area and comes with a parking stall. While parts of the units are styled with more of a vintage flare, there are also design components that are more contemporary, and many of the amenities are very modern.

For example, Ho’oulu units come with various smart home features to help control the safety and organization of your home. With the SkyBell video doorbell, you’ll be able to see who is knocking on your door before you have to decide whether to open it. You may also be able to catch the delivery person dropping off a package or a small animal getting into your plant!

Another smart feature seen in the Ho’oulu homes is the use of the Amazon Echo. Residents will have the option of utilizing an app to control the front door. These smart home devices have a variety of uses, such as playing music or controlling the temperature in the home. Be sure to check with the seller of your particular unit to see what kinds of smart home features are included!

Some of the additional benefits of purchasing a Ho’oulu unit is the inclusion of many appliances. Each unit comes with a stainless steel dishwasher, gas range, and hood. The kitchen also includes a Kohler vault single-basin apron front sink. In the bathrooms, you’ll find a medicine cabinet and a Kohler Verdera lighted mirror, with Moen brand plumbing fixtures and bath accessories.

Getting to Know the Neighborhood

In addition to amenities within the homes, one of the greatest parts of living in the Ho’oulu neighborhood is enjoying its close proximity to pretty much everything. The Hoopili development is still evolving, so residents can expect a mixture of amenities that have already been establish and plans for future additions as well.

Ho’oulu is close to several future neighborhood schools. Hoopili will be the host of a new high school, middle school, and 3 elementary schools. Given the walkability of the community in itself, your kids will likely be able to walk or bike to school. The kids will also love that Ho’oulu is near the children’s tot lot and a variety of community parks.

Additionally, Ho’oulu is situated close to 3 future HART rail stops, which will make your commute quick and easy. The neighborhood is near a planned community center and a future pool. With all of the amenities accessible so close to home, you and your family can find plenty of things to do without even having to get into your car.

Other popular places around the Ewa Beach and Kapolei regions include the White Plains Surfing Beach, Ka Makana Ali’i, and a whopping 10 golf courses. It’s easy to engage in outdoor sports and activities with the sunny weather and quick access to so many parks, beaches, and hiking locations.

Shoppers love Ka Makana Ali’i, as it includes a movie theater, restaurants, shops, and even a hotel. This mall also hosts local community events and farmers’ markets. Hoopili residents have the opportunity to “shop local” and obtain fresh food in this conveniently close attraction.

If you are looking to get out of your condo or townhome and into your first private single-family home, Ho’oulu resales are an excellent choice, as they are cost-effective but still provide the luxuries of living in the Hoopili community.
