Living in Mamaka

The Mamaka neighborhood homes have prices starting at $834,125). Mamaka includes a total of 113 homes that range from 1,057 to 1,365 square feet. There are 5 different floor plans with 3- and 4-bedroom options. Each home comes with a 10-year limited structural warranty.

Unlike many townhomes and condominiums, these units are detached, allowing for increased privacy and a separated yard. Each yard is enclosed by a fence and is landscaped prior to move in. The Hoopili community is very environmentally conscious, and some homes even come with a fruit tree in the yard.

Speaking of environmental awareness, these modern condominiums come with solar-powered water heaters with panels. This helps residents to save on money and conserve energy simultaneously. Other outdoor features include access to a covered garage (with space for 1-2 cars, depending on the floor plan) as well as additional visitor parking stalls.

Stepping Into Home

The insides of the Mamaka condominiums are just as beautiful as the outsides, with 5 different floor plan options available. Each plan consists of 2 floors, with 3-4 bedrooms. All bedrooms are on the second floor and come with soft, comfortable carpets. The master bedrooms include walk-in closets, and some also have an extra storage closet within the master bathroom.

Each floor plan contains 2.5 bathrooms, with the half bathroom located on the lower floor and the 2 full bathrooms upstairs. The master bedroom includes a walk-in shower. Depending on the particular floor plan, you may also have a dual-sink vanity included in the master bathroom. The additional full bathroom is meant to be shared between the other 2 bedrooms. All bathrooms include vinyl flooring, which provides a sleek, modern look and is easy to clean.

Mamaka's kitchen and dining areas are spacious and include stainless steel appliances. Developers have offered choices between a “cool” or “warm” interior theme, which allows for further customization of the countertop color. Each kitchen includes white cabinets with soft-close features.

Additionally, these kitchens come with large Kohler vault sinks, solid surface countertops, and dishwashers. Some floor plans have beautiful kitchen islands with pendent lights and a large sink, making it easy to spend time with the family while preparing a meal. Each condo includes washer and dryer connections and split AC systems in the living space and bedrooms.

A particularly interesting amenity of Hoopili homes that has been included in the Mamaka phase of development is the Smart Home system, which allows for the convenience of controlling several components of the home wirelessly. This includes:

• a video doorbell
• use of the Amazon Echo Dot
• electronic keypad entry to get into the home
• a WIFI garage opener
• use of the smart switch system

These features help residents to easily secure their homes and to take control of different components (such as the light switches) remotely.

One of the family-friendly features of the Mamaka floor plans is the inclusion of a built-in family “drop” zone on the second floor. This is an area within the hallway that is meant for the storage of electronic devices. USB ports are conveniently located within this station, making it easy to charge several devices simultaneously.

In addition, some of the features that are specific to the floor plan include:

• covered lanais
• a spare closet located under the stairs for additional storage
• bonus family room.

Buyers should note that, although the Mamaka homes come with many desirable appliances and amenities, they do not come with washers, dryers, or refrigerators; however, these appliances are available for separate purchase and can easily be installed into your unit.

Buyers should also factor in a relatively small monthly maintenance fee. This charge is common within this region and includes payment for common area maintenance. The exact price will range depending on the size of your home, but prices generally fall between $125 and $136 per month. Subject to change.

Getting Out of Town

While there are plenty of things to do inside the Hoopili community, there are also attractions that are conveniently located outside of the development in the nearby city. Like other Hoopili neighborhoods, the Mamaka homes are located near community centers and parks.

Once you take a bus, train, or car out of Hoopili, you won’t have to drive far to reach wonderful destinations for:

• outdoor sports (including snorkeling and hiking)
• restaurants
• shops (as the development is very close to Ka Makana Ali’i)
• movie theater
• trampoline park

With schools, outdoor activities, grocery stores, and parks all located within several miles of the Mamaka neighborhood, this development offers the perfect backdrop for raising a family in a suburban setting.
