In total, Olena includes 30 homes, each with an attached 2-car garage. The larger units feature 4 bedrooms and 3.5 bathrooms, while the smaller units include 3 bedrooms and 3 bathrooms. In my opinion, one of the most exciting features of this phase is that Olena homes include either 2 or 3 master suites, so you won’t need to have any arguments over who gets the “big” room!
Having multiple large bedrooms is perfect for navigating different types of family dynamics (such as in-laws moving in or adult children moving back home after college) and allows for additional privacy. In fact, one of the floorplan options, named Kamoa, includes an in-law suite with a private entrance and a kitchenette. While this floorplan is perfect for multi-generational families, it is important to note that the residence does not meet the qualifications to be a legal rental unit for tenants. It is best used as a relatively private space for family members needing a bit of separation within their home.
Like some of the other neighborhoods in the Ho’opili development, Olena homes include attached 2-car garages. These garages are equipped for use of PV (solar energy) technology and EVs (electric vehicles) to fit the modern theme of the homes. Having the ability to utilize alternative means of power can drastically decrease your energy bills and is also easier on the environment.
Another fantastic perk of living in the largest homes Ho’opili is the inclusion of a spacious yard with each home. Olena yards are about 3,500 to just over 4,000 square feet in size. Each yard includes “urban garden” features, which means that some of the landscaping is edible. For example, yards may include herbs for cooking or fruit-bearing trees. This is fun for the kids and also practical for cooking.
Inside Olena, you’ll enjoy smart home features, which have been consistently present throughout the release of the different Ho’opili phases. The actual features included in your home will vary, as previous owners may have elected for upgrades. Some common smart home features may include a video doorbell, locks that can be controlled via phone applications, and smart home hubs. These modern conveniences make life a little bit easier and can also help improve your safety and the protection of your home.
Additionally, Olena kitchens are equipped with a Kohler single basic vault sink, stainless steel appliances, quartz countertops, and vinyl plank flooring. Depending on the previous owner, you may have access to upgraded kitchen appliances and features. For example, some residents have purchased a whole house water softener or a 6-stage reverse osmosis water filter to keep your water tasting fresh. Some homes also include a solar powered hot water heater and a kitchen island!
Another interesting kitchen feature is the inclusion of a WIFI-enabled stove and oven. This type of appliance allows users to initiate functions, such as preheating the oven, from a phone application. You’ll be able to save on your time spent in the kitchen with this modern appliance.
Olena homes also include split air conditioning systems to keep you cool on hot summer days. Bedrooms come with upgraded carpet and large closets. Be sure to ask the seller about any extra storage space, so you can get your things organized.
Initial sale prices for Ho’opili Olena started at $814,000 through $917,000. Resale values will likely be different, especially with the individual upgrades current residents have chosen to incorporate into their homes.
Homes in the Ho’opili development don’t stay on the market for long, as they are located in a prime area and include modern, updated features and amenities that homeowners desire. Ho’opili is between Kapolei and Ewa Beach, so residents are able to easily travel across both cities. The community incorporates a focus on environmental sustainability through its urban garden initiatives, its energy-efficient home features, and its support of local farmers’ markets.
One of the reasons Ho’opili has become so popular is because of its easy access to basic necessities (such as stores, schools, etc.) as well as plenty of attractions for entertainment. Each neighborhood, including Olena, is close to community parks, future HART rail stops, and current or future community centers (some of which include pools!).
In the future, Ho’opili will host 5 new schools, including 3 elementary schools, a high school, and a middle school. Residents will be able to live within walking or biking distance of schools, parks, and community centers. The neighborhood is pedestrian-friendly and promotes regular physical activity among residents of all ages.
Speaking of physical activity, the Ho’opili development is also near several places of interest in terms of outdoor recreation. There are 8 different golf courses near Ho’opili. Residents also enjoy closeness to local beaches and hiking trails for staying active and enjoying the beautiful weather.
Families looking for a larger space, or even a home within a home (for multi-generational living situations), should consider checking out Ho’opili Olena. With its high-tech, upgraded features, spacious bedrooms, and full yards, future homeowners will enjoy the comforts of these homes and still be centrally located.
