Exploring the Homes at Lehua

These homes consist of 3-4 bedrooms and 2-2.5 bathrooms, with a total of 6 different floorplans. Some of the plans also have an accessory dwelling unit (ADU), which is an additional room within the home with a small, separate kitchen. This provides opportunities to earn income by renting out the unit or even hosting older relatives who require some assistance but are able to safely live with a level of privacy and independence.

One of my favorite features of the Lehua homes is the actual location of the bedrooms, as many of the plans provide space between each bedroom (similarly to a “roommate-style” floorplan), allowing for extra privacy within the family unit. These plans range from 1,108 through 2,004 square feet.

As noted previously, many of these homes were initially sold via lottery system. Prices started in the high $700,000s. Homeowners are expected to pay $65 per month toward the community association, but there are no additional monthly maintenance fees. The monthly community fee helps with the upkeep of the parks, pools, and centers available to all Hoopili residents.

Features of Lehua Homes

Homes at Hoopili Lehua will have at least 1 previous owner. Therefore, some of the upgrades and features of the homes may be different from those that were planned by the original building designers. In general, units at Lehua were built with split air conditioning that runs throughout each home. Original homes were also equipped with natural gas, which helps improve energy efficiency.

Residents are able to enjoy covered lanais and unique, edible landscaping in their personal yards. An initiative that is incorporated throughout the Hoopili development, the edible landscaping features fruit-bearing trees, fruiting shrubs, garden vegetables, and herbs. Imagine spending the afternoon outside on your covered lanai while the kids pick apples from a tree from your front yard!

Although Hoopili is pedestrian-friendly community, Lehua residents will also enjoy the luxury of having 2-car garages next to their homes. The covered garages are perfect for protecting your vehicles from any inclement weather. These garages have also been equipped to accommodate potential EV installations for charging electric vehicles.

On the inside, Lehua homes include upgraded finishes, such as luxury vinyl flooring and comfortable carpeting. Kitchens feature stainless steel appliances and white cabinets with soft-close doors. Additional features may vary from home to home, so be sure to check with the current unit owner for details.

Like many of the other homes in the Hoopili community, units at Lehua are also equipped with smart home features to help with home organization and management. Specific features are dependent by unit; however, some of the amenities you can expect to see are the incorporation of a Skybell video doorbell system and WIFI garage door openers. Homes may also include a touch screen control center and an Amazon Echo Dot. These modern conveniences help to protect your home, provide additional peace of mind, and improve the interconnectivity of the unit.

Life in the Hoopili Development

The Hoopili development ranges across approximately 1,287 acres of land and includes numerous housing phases that have been completed over time. While some of the community amenities have yet to be built, there are plans for future schools, stores, and recreation centers.

Additionally, future plans include the development of 3 Honolulu Rail Stations to help promote ease of navigation across this transit-oriented community. The Hoopili neighborhoods include extra wide sidewalks and clear bike lanes to promote physical movement and pedestrian commutes. Imagine being able to walk the kids to school each morning and then take a family bike ride to one of the numerous nearby parks in the early evening.

One of the popular amenities at Hoopili is the SOHO community center because it includes a pool in addition to rooms that can be reserved for parties or special events. Some of the other highlights of the community include 4J soccer fields, a bark and ride park, areas for children to run and play, and close access to a variety of common necessities.

Life Between Kapolei and Ewa Beach

Residents of Kapolei and Ewa Beach are situated in a prime location, as they are close to restaurants, shopping malls, and sources of entertainment. The Hoopili development is located on the western side of Oahu and is close to White Plain Surfing Beach. Golfers will be happy to learn that there are 10 golf courses that are all within 8 miles of Hoopili. Other outdoor recreational opportunities nearby include additional beaches, hiking trails, and waterfalls.

The KROC Center, another popular attraction near Hoopili, is an incredible facility that offers educational enrichment courses for learners of all ages. It also hosts pre-school and after-school programs for children. It features an aquatics center for hours of family fun. Other perks of joining the KROC Center include access to the fitness center, rooms that can be rented for special events, a community church, and other unique enrichment programs.

Overall, there are many factors that make Hoopili Lehua a desirable place to live, including the spacious floorplans, 2-car garages, and front yards with edible landscaping. Additionally, the neighborhood is near parks, community centers, and future schools and rail stations. The community is located right around the corner from beaches, nature trails, and shopping centers. With all of these factors combined, it is unsurprising that these homes do not stay on the market for long.
