Living in Hinahina

Hinahina homes range from 652 through 1,805 square feet and come with 1, 2, or 3 bedrooms, and up to 3 bathrooms. Like other neighborhoods within the Hoopili development, Hinahina features open-concept floorplans and energy efficient features. Each townhome comes with a minimum of 2 parking stalls, and some include attached garages for up to 3 cars.

Other features of the Hinahina homes include landscaped yards and entry lanais, so you, your family, and your friends can enjoy spending time right outside of your new home. Some of the homes also include private courtyards. On the inside, you’ll find comfortable wall-to-wall carpeting and vinyl flooring.

Original units included kitchens with stainless steel sinks, a refrigerator, a Whirlpool range/oven, a range hood, and a dishwasher. Kitchens also come with a beautiful island and peninsula for food preparation and easy serving. Some homeowners may have opted for upgrades, like efficiency split air conditioning systems, window coverings, and additional appliances. A washer and dryer system was included in the initial sales.

Some of the most unique features of these homes are the smart home products that have been implemented to help promote the comfort and convenience of residents. Features such as the SkyBell video doorbell and Z-Wave door lock and wireless switch allow residents to see who is outside of their home and to lock/unlock the doors remotely, as needed. Each original home came with a Qolsys touchscreen smart home control device for navigating the smart home features from one hub. Other features include a WIFI garage door opener and an Amazon Echo Dot. These smart home amenities help you to control and secure your home no matter where you are located in the moment.

Original pricing for these homes started at around $626,960 through $716,530. All Hoopili homes are subject to a community maintenance fee. Water, sewer, and electricity are not included in this fee but are metered based off of individual home usage.

Take a Walk Around Town

Hoopili is known for being a development that includes plenty of community amenities and conveniences. Some of these amenities are already completed, while others remain in development. For example, Hinahina is located directly next to a future transit station, which will make it easy for commuters to get to where they need to go on time.

Some of the other nearby amenities include the Konane Neighborhood Park in addition to the numerous parks across the Hoopili development. Plans for pedestrian and bicycle pathways are currently underway. Hinahina is also close to the planned Hoopili common gardens.

The KROC center, another close attraction, is a huge community facility with an adventure cove leisure pool (with water slides), a competition swimming pool (with aquatic climbing walls), and a jacuzzi. KROC also includes a gigantic fitness center, with studios for hosting exercise classes and massage therapy rooms. Residents can play basketball, check out the state-of-the art game room with multi-game arcade, or play soccer on the outdoor field. The KROC center also serves as a host for a church ministry and a preschool for young children.

Students at the University of Hawaii at West Oahu will be only minutes away from home at Hinahina. The neighborhood is close to additional schools as well as shopping and recreational areas. Ka Makana Ali’i, one of the most popular shopping centers, is very close to Hoopili and includes restaurants, stores, movie theater showings, and a variety of community events, such as seasonal farmers’ markets. With so much to do near Hinahina, you’ll be able to enjoy spending time with your friends and family without even having to get into your car.

More on the Hoopili Development

The Hoopili master-planned community covers around 1,287 acres of land and serves as an urban oasis between West Oahu and downtown Honolulu. Developers at D. R. Horton Hawaii envision Hoopili as a community that focuses on connection among friends, family, and neighbors that is transit-oriented and easy to get around.

There are extensive plans for this community already, and while some of the homes have been sold, others are still in the developmental phase. Hoopili offers opportunities for homes sold at market price in addition special housing available under the Honolulu Affordable Housing program. The community will also have its own rail station and several bus stops for utilizing public transportation. It is located near the H1 freeway, making it easy to commute to town for work as needed.
